The Danforth is known as Toronto’s Greektown and is home to a diverse mix of restaurants, cafes and bars. You will also find the landmark Danforth Music Hall here in this neighborhood and if you come during the summer, the annual August Taste of Danforth will blow you away.

If you have a craving for some Italian comfort food, head over to Il Fornello for their pastas and pizzas.

Il Fornello was the first restaurant in Toronto that offered a traditional Neapolitan thin crust pizza known in Italy as “pizza a legna” (wood fired pizza). Their pizzas here are fresh and topped with incredibly fresh local ingredients. For those with food sensitivities or allergies, their pizza crust AND pastas are available gluten free!

Winterlicious is currently going on around the city and Il Fornello happens to have an amazing 3 Course Winter Prix Fixe menu for just $29 from January 23 to February 12. Check out some of the items below.

One of the standout items was the Lamb Sausage Pizza. This (plus most of their other pizzas)is available for just $12 Monday to Thursday at dinner. So if you can't decide on what to have, just get it all!

The ambiance is nice and relaxing and the portion sizes are very generous. This is an awesome place to indulge yourself with some classic Italian food. Buon appetito!
