Tom*&Tweed Intertwined

Is it just me or is every other week in Toronto some form of Fashion week as of late? I can't keep up, so I had to ask a friend what was up because I was convinced it had just become an excuse for bars & clubs to get 4am last call permits.. He explained; TOM* Toronto Men's Fashion week FW18 runs from March 3rd-17th & TW Toronto Women's Fashion week is March 6th-14th. He also discussed the differences between the other Fashion weeks we have throughout the year as well as the ones that go on in other city's but that's pretty much all I absorbed from that conversation..good thing to take note of these things when planning a stay with Vacation in Toronto in one of our executive suites!

Our team at VIT attended the Austen Dor runway show on Day 4 at 1 Yonge Street. What was the most interesting thing about this show (at least to me) was that it was sponsored by, and in collaboration with Tweed Inc., one of the biggest producers of medicinal marijuana in Canada. This was clearly a very well thought AND carried out attempt by the cannabis company to connect with creatives in the world of fashion and leave a lasting imprint in a world that to some has nothing to do with the other. I mean, they got the designers to make pieces using tweed fabric and capture their interpretation of the brand in their collections. It's actually genius and someone was definitely stoned when they came up with that because my mind is blown. It is super exciting to see clothes & cannabis (my two favourite things) combined and I am very curious to see if this becomes a trend (pun intended).
