Brassaii

(416) 598-4730

As we get closer to spring, I have been dreaming about the day where it's warm enough outside to enjoy my weekend brunch on a nice patio. I know it’s early March and it's still freezing, but a girl can dream can’t she? For now, if I am able to get myself out of bed on a cold Saturday morning, you can bet that I will get my brunch on.

I was very excited when Foodie.fob invited me to try out Brassaii’s new revised brunch menu. I have always liked going to Brassaii Wednesday nights for some drinks and dancing but I've never had the pleasure of trying their food during the daytime.

When you walk up the steps to Brassaii, the doors are a gorgeous royal blue color and feels so welcoming. Once inside, you are instantly greeted with a huge open space filled with bright sunlight coming in through the windows. I quickly forgot about the cold weather outside and found my way to one of their comfortable seats and started perusing their brunch menu.

Take a look below at some of the dishes I tried:

Fifty Shades of Grape ($15)

Grey goose Vodka, st. germain, grape, lime

Brassaii Fruit Yogurt Parfait ($10)

Puffed quinoa, free yogurt, berries, honey, cherry compote

If you are looking to watch your waistline, this is a very healthy brunch option. This was incredibly fresh, creamy and beautifully presented.

Beet and Goat Cheese Salad ($16)

Heirloom beets, goat cheese terrine, house salad mix, yogurt dressing

Frisee Salad ($9)

Frisee, poached eggs, bacon, croutons

House Cured Salmon Salad ($14)

Baby kale, avocado, house-cured salmon, quinoa

This was my favorite starter. The salmon had the perfect amount of saltiness and paired with the avocado it was the perfect bite.

Acorn Squash Soup ($15)

Squash chips, whipped cream, chives

Fried Chicken and Avocado ($22)

Gluten-free fried chicken, sourdough bread, avocado, sweet Dijon

This juicy fried chicken will blow your mind. I usually don’t have fried chicken much as I feel like most of the time the meat comes out dry. This dish is not like that at all. It’s cooked perfectly and seasoned so well; the sweet dijon sauce drizzled on top made this dish the perfect blend of sweet and savory.

Steak and Eggs ($27)

Flat iron steak, scrambled egg, hollandaise, rosti potato

Scrambled Eggs with Gravlax ($18)

Three eggs, gravlax, sourdough bread, salad

This is the first time I had heard of gravlax so I was very curious to try it. It looks just like smoked salmon however the difference is that this is a unsmoked salmon and it is cured in salt, sugar and dill. I loved this on top of the sourdough bread and eggs. Definitely a must try item.

Crepes ($9)

Three crepes with strawberries and chantilly cream

Lobster Croque Monsieur ($23)

House salad, béchamel, swiss cheese

All the food I tried here are part of Brassaii’s new revised brunch menu which will be launching Saturday March 24th. I hope that after you read about my experience and saw all the pictures you will go give this a try. They have a huge space which can seat large parties AND they take reservations for brunch. No waiting in line. Viva la brunch!
